[personal profile] striped posting in [community profile] abandoned
I visited Inis Mór (Inishmore), one of the Aran Islands in Ireland last summer. The Aran Islands have been called "a world of stone", and that was quite accurate. It was an arid, beautiful landscape, one of the most unique places I've ever been. Right when we were leaving I found a bunch of interesting abandoned buildings. I would have liked to take more and better pictures, but the below are what I have:

Abandoned stone house. One of the doors had an official notice posted on it, announcing that the house will be demolished.

Broken windows.

Another door, taken over by creepers.

A building that was once much fancier, but has also been abandoned for much longer.

Also, hi, [community profile] abandoned, it's been a long time! If any of you members have pictures or stories to share, I'd love for this comm to see a bit more activity.
